Recipes with White Rum
White Rum is a type of alcohol, also known as 'silver' or 'light' rum. It gives a light yellow color. It is aged for about a year. Some white rums are not aged, but matured in barrels for a while.
It adds vanilla, brown sugar and fruit flavors to the drink without affecting the appearance of the drink. Like all rums, white rum is usually made from molasses or sugarcane juice.
The main difference between White rum and Dark rum is that white rum is aged in stainless steel or straight oak barrels. Dark rum is aged in large charred oak barrels and for a longer period of time. In addition, white rum is often used in making cocktails. Dark rum is preferred in meals.
