  1. Put water in the pan. Wrap the clove and cinnamon in a clean cheesecloth and add to water with granulated sugar. Boil for 20 minutes with stirring until the sugar is melted.
  2. To color, add confectioneryand boil for another 5 minutes. Remove the cheesecloth and put in glass jars. Keep it in the refrigerator by closing its lid.
  3. Serve in cold or hot cups as needed.
