In general, chocolates with a cocoa content of 70 percent or higher are referred to as "bitter" chocolates. It contains plenty of minerals (magnesium, zinc, iron, manganese, calcium, copper, sulfur, potassium) and vitamins (vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B8 and E). Dark chocolate has a high antioxidant effect because of its high content of cocoa. It protects against heart disease and cancer. It reduces stress. As it has a low glycemic index, it decreases the resistance of the insulin and thus controls the blood sugar. It is also good for dry cough especially in winter. It reduces cough-causing infection when melted and consumed warmly.
