Tips

  • Spread the ice cream mixture in a thin and even layer on the baking sheet. Make sure it is not too thin or too thick.
  • Use a large baking sheet to get the right thickness of ice cream. If it is too thick, it will be difficult to roll, but if it is too thin, the ice cream will melt very quickly.
  • Use a sharp, thin spatula to roll the ice cream.
  • To roll the ice cream, start at one end of the pan with a spatula, push the ice cream into a roll and continue to the other end.
  • Use metal trays instead of glass or ceramic trays. In this way, the ice cream freezes faster.
  • Freeze for at least 4 hours before rolling the ice cream. Otherwise, the ice cream will be soft and runny. This makes it difficult to roll.
  • Be sure to refrigerate the ice cream scraper. At room temperature, the spatula can cause the ice cream to soften.
  • Serve it in a chilled bowl or glass. In this way, ice cream retains its shape and consistency for a longer time.
  • You can also prepare the recipe with oreos, cocoa powder, or caramel sauce.
