Directions

  1. Firstly, preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Take a medium-sized bowl and nicely blend brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, corn syrup, salt, and melted butter until it's smooth. (Try to beat it using your hand).
  3. Spread the shredded pecans at the bottom of your pie shell. Then, pour the filling on the pecan. Also, you don't need to worry about burying the pecans, because they will themselves rise.
  4. Bake the pecan at 350 °F for half an hour. After 30 minutes tilt the pie nicely with aluminum foil to stop the pecans and the crust from getting too brown. Bake it for more than 30-45 minutes. Remember that the pie should be wiggly from the center.
  5. Remember that the pecan pie will be soft at first when you take it out of the oven. Also, it will settle down when it gets cool.
  6. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream on top.

Tips

  • The pecan pie is done when the center of the pie reaches 200°F. You need to pat the center lightly. If the pie springs back, understand that it is done.
  • Also, for easy cleaning up, spray the pie pan nicely before you place the pie crust in the pan. If the crust is growing brown early, cover up its edges with a foil.
