Ingredients

Directions

  1. Add all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, pumpkin pie spice, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, all-spice powder, and ground nutmeg in a bowl. Mix well.
  2. Add softened butter to the bowl of a stand mixer and begin whipping with the paddle attachment on medium speed. Start adding light brown sugar in small batches to combine with the butter. Use the blender to scrape the edges and start over.
  3. After adding all of the sugar, add an egg and continue beating for 2-3 minutes until the mixture is fluffy and creamy.
  4. Add the pumpkin puree to the mixture and begin beating again on low to medium speed until fully blended.
  5. With the mixer running, start adding small batches of all-purpose flour. Stop the mixer to scrape the sides of the bowl if necessary. Add the all-purpose flour and continue whisking until fully mixed.
  6. Prepare a 8 x 4 inches rectangular loaf pan by oiling it with butter. Cover with parchment paper.
  7. Pour the prepared dough into the loaf pan and tap the surface two or three times to get rid of any trapped air.
  8. Place the pan in a preheated 160 °C oven for about 65 minutes or until the bread is baked. You can check if the bread is cooked by inserting a toothpick into the middle of the bread. If it comes out clean, the bread is ready. If not, cook for another ten minutes.
  9. After cooking, remove the tray from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
  10. To remove the bread, invert the pan and place on the cooling rack to cool completely.
  11. When it is cool, drizzle with maple syrup. Slice the loaf and serve it.
