Tips

  • You can use any type of salmon. Make sure you buy the fish from a trusted store.
  • Season the salmon filet before cooking.
  • Do not rinse the salmon.
  • Do not remove the skin of the salmon. Cook the salmon with its skin on for a juicy and tender filet. This helps protect the filet from the heat of the pan and cook the salmon more evenly. Before serving, you can either remove the skin or serve with the skin.
  • You can use lemon juice instead of lime juice.
  • If the salmon crumbles easily with a fork, it is cooked. Internal temperature of salmon should be between 125 °F and 130 °F.
  • Cook the salmon on low heat. When cooked at high heat, more albumin protein comes out. This causes a white sticky layer to form on the salmon.
  • Serve with fresh herbs such as parsley or dill.
