Tips

  • Drain and rinse the beans. Canned beans are stored in brine. So be sure to wash the beans to reduce the salt level in the soup.
  • You can omit the jalapeno pepper if you wish.
  • If you want the beans to be soft, add them to the soup along with the vegetables. If you want it to stay firm, you can add it 5 minutes before the soup is cooked.
  • If you want the soup to be more juicy, you can add chicken broth or vegetable broth.
  • You can serve this soup with diced avocado and/or shredded cheese.

What Is Taco Soup?

Taco soup is a very simple concept - simply take the things that you would usually use when filling a taco, and use them to create a delicious soup. If you’ve never had it, it could sound a little odd to you. However, the end result is a deeply satisfying meal.

What To Serve with Taco Soup?

You can add any sauce you want to taco soup, but a great option for a side dish is a tortilla. It also goes well with most Mexican dishes.

Here are our some delicious recipes that you can serve with Taco Soup:

How to Store Taco Soup?

There are many great ways to store taco soup—that's the benefit of a well-made soup, actually. It's really easy and can be stored for a very long time!

You can store taco soup in an airtight container in the refrigerator. We recommend keeping the soup in the refrigerator for only three to four days because, beyond that, bacteria can grow, which means the soup is no longer safe to eat.

To keep your taco soup a little longer, we recommend freezing it! Pour the soup into small containers with one serving each, and then remove any excess air from the container. This will prevent the freezer from burning. You can store taco soup for up to three months.

To thaw the taco soup, continue heating it in the microwave in two-minute increments, stirring between each heat, until it's completely hot; it will be both safe to eat and totally delicious!
