  • You can use any type of pasta. Spaghetti, linguine, penne, or ziti pasta types that hold the sauce are ideal for this recipe.
  • Reserve some of the pasta water and use it in pesto sauce. This adds consistency and flavor to the sauce.
  • If you're using pasta water, you can skip adding salt to the pesto sauce. This way, you can spice up the sauce.
  • Use fresh basil leaves.
  • After you get the pasta on the plate, add the basil. Otherwise, the basil may turn black.
  • Instead of basil, you can add parsley or mint leaves to the recipe.
  • Add the greens last. Hot pasta can cause greens to wilt. Therefore, add the greens close to serving and serve immediately.
  • If you don't have pine nuts on hand, you can use walnuts or almonds.
  • If you have a nut allergy, you can also make pesto without nuts.
  • To make vegan pesto, use a dairy-free cheese.

  4. Take the sauce from the stove and mix with boiled pasta.
