Tips

  • Use any type of zucchini. Large zucchini are ideal, as the chips shrink as they cook. They also release less water. This makes the chips more crispy.
  • Slice the zucchini evenly and thinly. Be sure to slice thinly so that the zucchini chips are crispy. Cut it into equal slices so that it cooks at the same time. For this, you can use a mandolin slicer or a vegetable peeler.
  • Dry the zucchini slices with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. This will help keep the chips crispy in the oven.
  • Salt the zucchini to absorb water before cooking.
  • Grease the zucchini chips before cooking. This ensures that the chips are golden and crispy.
  • You can also use avocado oil instead of olive oil. For more, check out our "Types of Cooking Oil" article.
  • If you want the zucchini chips to be more crispy, dip the zucchini slices in bread crumbs and egg before baking.
  • Do not overfill the tray. Arrange the zucchini in a single row on the baking tray. This way, the zucchini will cook evenly.
  • After removing the zucchini chips from the oven, let them cool for a few minutes to get more crispy.
  • Place in a single layer on a lightly greased or parchment-lined baking sheet to prevent the zucchini slices from sticking.
  • You can customize the recipe with your favorite seasonings and sauces. You can add cumin, paprika, garlic, curry powder or hot sauce.
  • You can also sprinkle them with parmesan cheese or fresh herbs before serving.
